Hypothetical ones, at least.

Here are the books I’m thinking about writing:

  • The First House: five book series that explores found family, the way family history can linger (for good and ill), and the myriad forces that shape our identities – all in a magic school. Basically, it’s “how I’d do Harry Potter (without all the weird stuff)”.
  • Blood and stone: three book series that follows five warring groups in a battle for survival (and are also expressions of different takes on death). Plus: there are some dragons and the looming threat of a grand monster. Game of Thrones meets Priory of the Orange Tree.
  • The Glass Empire: two book series about a group of friends trying to save their dying town from a mining outfit. Dispossession, colonisation, and capitalism. It’s Deadwood meets magic with a sprinkle of the French revolution.
  • Stainless: mechs in space. Child soldiers struggle to maintain their individuality while shouldering the weight of protecting their society from an alien enemy. Meanwhile: two human splinter groups try to find a new way forward. Yes, capitalism is the bad guy again.
